How Home Wall Trends responds to copyright infringement claims under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and the steps to follow if you believe your work has been used without permission.
Last Updated: April 29, 2026
01 — Introduction
We Respect Creative Work
Home Wall Trends is built on the work of writers, photographers, illustrators, and craftspeople. We take intellectual-property rights seriously, both our own and those of others. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and we respond promptly to legitimate notices of copyright infringement.
This page explains how to file a DMCA notice if you believe content on our site infringes your copyright, how to file a counter-notice if your content has been removed in error, and what to expect from us at every stage of the process.

03 — Filing A Notice
How To File A DMCA Notice
If you are a copyright owner, or someone authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that material on Home Wall Trends infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice to our designated agent. To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are involved, a representative list is acceptable.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it. Please include the full URL of the page on Home Wall Trends and, where possible, a description of the specific image, paragraph, or element at issue.
- Your contact information, including your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
Notices that are missing any of the elements above may not be valid under the DMCA, and we may not be able to act on them.
04 — Our Response
How We Respond To Valid Notices
When we receive a notice that meets the DMCA’s requirements, we will act expeditiously. Our standard response is to:
- Acknowledge receipt of your notice within 3 business days.
- Review the claim and the material identified in your notice.
- Remove or disable access to the material if the notice is valid, typically within 7 business days of acknowledgement.
- Notify the writer or contributor responsible for the material that it has been removed in response to a DMCA notice, and provide them with a copy of the notice.
- Inform you, the claimant, once the action is complete.
Removal does not necessarily mean we agree that infringement has occurred. It reflects our policy of acting in good faith on facially valid notices while the parties resolve the underlying question.
05 — Counter-Notice
How To File A Counter-Notice
If your content was removed from Home Wall Trends in response to a DMCA notice and you believe it was removed in error, by mistake, or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notice to our designated agent. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), your counter-notice must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled, and the location at which it appeared before removal (the URL).
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which Home Wall Trends may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notice or their agent.
When we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original claimant. If the claimant does not file a court action seeking an injunction within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the removed material.
06 — False Claims
A Note On False Or Bad-Faith Claims
Section 512(f) of the DMCA imposes liability on anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that content is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake. Filing a false notice or counter-notice can result in damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees.
Before submitting a notice, please consider whether the use you are objecting to may qualify as fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107. Brief quotations, commentary, criticism, news reporting, and educational uses are often protected. If you are unsure, we encourage you to seek legal advice.
07 — Repeat Infringers
Repeat Infringer Policy
In line with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i)(1)(A), we have adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts and access privileges of contributors, commenters, or other users who are determined to be repeat copyright infringers.
- We track valid DMCA notices we receive against individual contributors and commenters.
- A pattern of valid notices may result in suspension or permanent termination of access.
- We may also terminate access at our discretion in response to a single, particularly serious infringement.
08 — Our Content
If Our Content Has Been Copied
If you find an article, photograph, or illustration originally published on Home Wall Trends being used elsewhere without permission or proper attribution, we would be grateful if you let us know. Our editorial work is the result of careful research and craft, and we actively defend our copyrights.
For licensing inquiries, syndication requests, or republication permissions, please contact our editorial team. Brief excerpts (typically under 100 words) with clear attribution and a link back to the original article are generally welcome under fair use.
09 — Updates
Changes To This Policy
We may update this DMCA Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our procedures, or our designated agent’s contact information. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will always show when the most recent revision took effect. Continued use of Home Wall Trends after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
